Like Joe Cocker before him, Tommy Evans is a skinny boy from the north of England who sings like he grew up in the gospel churches of the Deep South. Inspired by soul legends Otis Redding, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke and the folk revivalists of the 60s and 70s - Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Willy Nelson - Tommy draws on the timeless traditions of folk, country and soul, penning original songs that twist the old into a reflection of the present. After years of touring the UK and Europe with Newcastle's acclaimed folk-rock band Holy Moly & The Crackers, Tommy strikes out on his own, with one foot on the platform and the other on the train.
